Have you been prompted to upgrade to iOS6? Well that’s because its been out just after the release of iPhone 5. Apple’s iOS6 showcases new features as well as updates to existing ones. With the new iOS, apps are easier to use, a nice and astonishing 3D maps and of course our favorite Siri gets a huge update. However, with those great updates and news features, you will notice similarities to what android phones have had already. Well at least they added them. The update replaces Google Maps which features like turn-by-turn directions, Fly Over and, since it uses vector-based images, 3-D image renderings of many destinations is also possible. Another great feature is the ability to zoom out in Satellite mode to see the Earth as a glowing blue ball in space. Nice isn’t it?
But again the iOS6 is not available for all devices.iPhone 3G and first generation iPads can’t enjoy the update. The new iOS is only available for most recent Apple devices such as the iPhone 4, the iPhone 4S, iPad 2, the new iPad and the iPhone 3GS. It will also be available for fourth generation iPod Touch owners.
Some Apple iOS 6 features inlude:
- Maps (showcasing Flyover and turn-by-turn directions)
- Facebook Integration
- Sync Notes
- VIP Mail (you’ll get an alert when e-mails arrive from your chosen contacts)
- Do not disturb
- Siri (now opens apps via voice and does turn by turn navigation as well. On top of that, Siri can get info for movies, spots and restaurants as well)
- Shared Photo Streams
- FaceTime over cellular
- Phone controls (ability to reply to an incoming phone call via text message, cool huh!)
Don’t be left behind, update your iOS now and enjoy the new features.
